Let’s Read: Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo

Yamada is a high-schooler trying to live his life throughout school even though everyone “hates” him. He encounters a girl called Shiraishi, which later he has an accident and suddenly he swaps body with her. It was Yamada’s first encounter with a witch!

My description of the manga doesn’t sound exciting, my bad. However don’t be fooled, baka, it’s still too early to write it off. One of the things I really enjoy about this manga is that they don’t FORCE harems. Every girl that has a crush on Yamada knows it’s one-sided love. You might be wondering why is this a big deal. Well, for one! Harem mangas mostly suck.

One of the things I really appreciate about this manga is the character development. I wish there was more, sadly it seems the author is rushing things to the end. That’s sad to see, and there aren’t many loose ends…. maybe none so everything is going smoothly.

The growth between characters is by far one of the best. We have a very unusual heroine, Shiriashi, who carters to us almost no expressions whatsoever. She doesn’t flutter like “normal girls” do, instead, everything is “logical”.

Not everything is comedy, if you take in account the characters like Shiraishi, every witch in the manga has some obscure past. Some are really cruel, others are …. well, you’ll find out soon enough. Yamada helps them out because he feels it’s the right decision.

Sadly, he ain’t no perfect leaf in the story. Yamada is constantly carrying the heavy burden of others. He pushes forward regardless of the situations. In between all the hardships he goes through, he’s probably one of the characters that receives the most severe punishments in the story.

There’s plenty of comedy and sadness in this one. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. I’m hoping for a good ending and hopefully we’ll get one.

I hate the guts of the student council in this one. Especially the secretary girl and the president… jesus.
